Dear Veteran:
The 2019-2020 flu season is upon us. Flu vaccines are highly recommended to reduce the chance of getting sick with flu and to prevent the spread of flu to others.
Free flu vaccination will begin October 1, 2019 at all VA Northern California Health Care System locations. Flu vaccines can prevent or reduce the impact of the flu. It can also decrease your chances of hospitalization. By getting the flu shot, you will also be protecting your family from the risk of getting the flu.
If you have already received the flu shot outside of the
VA, please provide your nurse with the documentation (date/location), so we can update your records.
As a reminder, if you are 65 years or older ask your healthcare
provider if you are due for the pneumonia vaccine as well.
