The Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC), located at the Martinez Community Based Outpatient Clinic, is founded on psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery principles. It serves eligible Veterans diagnosed with serious mental illness and whose symptoms cause significant functional difficulties in one or more areas of their lives. The PRRC is an outpatient transitional educational center offering evidence-based and state-of-the-art approaches designed to support recovery and meaningful integration of Veterans into self-determined community roles. Programming is specifically designed to build on each Veteran’s strengths and to teach the requisite skills that are necessary for realizing the Veteran’s self-chosen goals in all life domains. The PRRC offers a wide range of services and resources using an interdisciplinary team approach at a central location as well as supportive experiential opportunities within the wider local community to assist Veterans to achieve their goals. Veterans who are further along in their recovery processes also provide support and encouragement to others beginning their journeys. PRRC staff coordinates services with other mental, physical, and holistic health services in the Northern California Health Care System and in the community.
